Szymon Ćwikliński
Painter, draftsman, and sculptor
Szymon Ćwikliński is an artist born in 1988 in Szamotuły.
A graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the University of Arts in Poznań (now Magdalena Abakanowicz University in Poznań). In 2017, he defended his diploma in the studio of Professor Andrzej Zdanowicz and received a Master of Fine Arts degree. In the 2015/16 academic year, he received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding artistic achievements. In 2016/2017, he was an assistant in the IV Painting Studio of Professor Andrzej Zdanowicz at the University of Arts in Poznań. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Greater Poland Association of Visual Artists, where he serves as a member of the Artistic Committee. He has participated in 50 group exhibitions and 11 solo exhibitions. In 2022, he was honored by the Marshal of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, Marek Woźniak, with the “Meritorious for the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship” decoration.
He works in many artistic fields, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Tielt (Belgium) and Sottrum (Germany). His works are found in private collections in Poland and abroad, including Germany, Italy, the USA, and Belgium, as well as in the Górków Castle Museum in Szamotuły and the Museum in Lewków. In drawing, painting, and sculpture, he materializes his visions of the afterlife and fantastical realms. His art is a journey into “his own inner self,” hidden in intimate dreams and visions.
